The Best Friend’s Mehendi

Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since I posted anything here. I know that’s not good, but we’ve been busy too much with all the other things. But don’t you guys worry, I am here with a series of 3 post back to back. And yes! My best friend got married! It was like a dream. Getting married is the toughest decision of someone’s life. And I don’t know, when did we get old enough to go through with it. But I wish and hope that her married life will be happy and always filled with fun.

So I decided to do a complete series on what to wear on an Indian wedding, when you are not an “Indian traditional wear” fanatic like we are. And you like to be subtle and different from the crowd at all times. So, lets start with the first addition to this series – The Mehendi.

There was a dress code to this function, all the guest were supposed to wear either green or yellow. I already had a mustard yellow palazzo pant in my wardrobe, so I decided to team something with that. I saw this white maxi top in Forever21 and immediately bought it. It was perfect for my look and also was in line with my personal style. I always add accessorise to glam up my look and it works too every time. So here also I did the same thing. Right amount of bling and easy on your pockets! You don’t have to be loaded with all the glitter and shimmer for a wedding function. With subtle attire too, you can be glamorous. That’s the only style mantra I have. And to add little tradition, I wore a kolhapuri chappal with my ensemble.

For Avi, we put together his entire look with whatever he already had in his wardrobe. He is a very cool and relaxed guy. So that shows in his styling too. And currently we are obsessing over every Longline thing we see! I mean, thats the coolest fashion trend for guys right now. And he buy anything that is a longline! You will get to see more of it! Anyways, so his look was very street. Not traditional at all and full on style quotient. Throw a cool shirt over a longline t-shirt and you have – instant swag! And he applied the same idea to accessorise the look. And voila ! One handsome dude is ready!

So, this is what we wore to my Best Friend’s Mehendi function. How do you like our idea to dress less glittery and more smartly for an Indian wedding? Tell us in comments.
