This is the next edition to our “Indian Wedding” series – The Engagement.
For the engagement ceremony, we tried to experiment with our look a bit. Mixing a western element with our Indian traditional attire, which I really love to do. And the mixture always comes out to be something unusual and great.
Avi styled his Kurta with a Nehru Jacket and trousers because who wants to get in trouble with the Chuddidars! I mean its just hassle to put on and not so comfortable for guys. So, just replace it with a nice fitted trouser and no one will ever know! To make this look more interesting we added a dupatta and draped it around his neck making cowls on his one shoulder. This gave him a edgy look and made the whole ensemble very appealing. And to finish off, this time we tried nice tan kolhapuri chappals that made the whole outfit complete. I would say he really rocked the whole look!
For my mix of the traditions, this time I tried draping the Saree with my jeans. It’s been in fashion for quiet sometime now. And I see girls sporting this look. So, I went ahead and wore my saree with the jeans and accessorised the look with some bold jewellery and a pair of heels. Also I’m not very big on blouses, so, instead of a blouse I just wore a crop top. Wearing a crop top saves so much time and effort! You don’t have to eat the head of the tailor for that sexy blouse you want! Just put on your favourite crop top and it’s as good as a blouse. I really liked how the whole look turned out. It was really very edgy and out of the box.
So, this is how we played with the mix and match of different elements. Don’t forget to tell us how we look in the comments.
