Modern Saree 1.0

This is the first post of my series – Modern Saree. Yeah we all know carrying a saree is the toughest job in the world. But it is also the most beautiful Indian garment also. I love sarees, when I was a kid I used to drape my mom’s saree and bug her all the time to dress me up in it. Now, I run away from a saree. But there’s nothing in this world that cannot be spiced up with a little bit of styling.

So, I came up with this series where I am going to style sarees in three different way. Not the traditional way of course! Where’s the fun in that! So, lets get to the first part of the series – Modern Saree.

Here, I have styled a beautiful blue printed chiffon saree with a polka dot maxi top. Print of the saree is so fresh and the colour and material of it is very light. I wanted it to give a casual yet dressy feel. This saree is perfect for a day event, maybe for the sangeet or mehendi of a friend. I loved how the polka dot of the top and print of the saree worked out together. Whole thing was pretty graceful and easy to carry and little bit of accessories jelled really well with the look. I kept all the jewellery modern too. Nothing traditional!

I have never liked wearing a blouse with the saree. So, I keep on experimenting with different tops and every time I pair a saree with a new top it gives an amazing look each time. So most important tip of this series is, ditch the blouse and experiment with tops for your very own modern saree look.

So, this was the first edition. Two more to come! Do tell me how you like it in the comments below. And checkout the space for rest of the series.
